Duties Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic testing. Diagnosis: Identify and diagnose acute, chronic, and complex health conditions. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized care plans that address patient needs, including treatment goals and expected outcomes. Prescribing: Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical devices. Qualifications To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position. Basic Requirement(s) Education: A graduate or higher‑level degree, bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. Foreign graduates must provide official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools. Advanced Practice Nurse Positions: Applicants must possess a graduate or higher‑level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the specialty indicated by the position. Licensure: All grade levels require a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse. Advanced Practice Nurse positions additionally require licensure or registration in the clinical specialty required by the position. Basic Requirements for GS‑11 (or Equivalent) Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field; or At least one full year of professional nursing experience (GS‑9 level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree from a professional nursing educational program. Professional nursing experience equivalent to GS‑09: Deliver comprehensive primary, preventive, and therapeutic care that promotes improved patient outcomes and supports long‑term health. Basic Requirements for GS‑12 (or Equivalent) At least one or more full years of professional nursing experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS‑11). Professional nursing experience equivalent to GS‑11: Deliver direct and comprehensive primary, preventive, and therapeutic medical and nursing care to patients, including counseling and coordinating services. Educational and Licensing Guidance Applicants should submit transcripts or a list of courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades. Unofficial transcripts are accepted in the application package; official transcripts will be required before an official offer. Only attendance and degrees from accredited institutions are eligible for credit. For foreign education, submit a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript.
