Job Description Practice of registered professional nursing by a nurse practitioner may include the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions and the performance of therapeutic and corrective measures within a specialty of practice, in collaboration with a licensed physician qualified to collaborate in the specialty involved, provided such services are performed in accordance with a written practice agreement and written practice protocols. Education & Credentials Completion of masters, post‑masters or doctorate NP program accredited by CCNE or ACEN; Current active RN and NP license in NYS. National NP certification (Family/Adult). Hiring Requirements Internal hire: Required upon transfer into new position. External hire: Required at the time of application. Current BLS, ACLS. DEA or DEA eligible. Completed RNFA if in OR. Agreement from appropriate physician to enter into a collaborative agreement. Experience Two (2) years of clinical experience in specialty area of practice (surgical services) as RN or NP preferred. For Registered Nurse clinical positions, internal applicants must have been employed in the same job title as the per diem position for which they are applying or in a comparable area of practice. Internal applicants must have a minimum of nine (9) continuous months of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. External applicants must have a minimum of one (1) continuous year of comparable work experience within two (2) years of the time the per diem job is posted. All applicants will be required to satisfy all orientation/probationary requirements.
