Pekron Consulting, Inc., (Pekron) located in the greater Chicagoland area, is seeking a Safety & Health Technician with 3-5 years of Construction/General Industry Safety & Health experience. A bachelor’s degree is required as well as an OSHA 30 hour in General and/or Construction Industry, OHST, or CHST. Pekron is a national leader in providing EH&S consulting services and expertise to a diverse array of Fortune 500 clients. The job location is in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin for between 15-18 months as our client's onsite health and safety technician. Our client is installing insulating materials during the construction of a new data-center facility. As you develop, there will be opportunities for more diverse assignments and increased responsibilities.

Our client is installing insulating materials during the construction of a new data-center facility. Project responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting safety and health audits and observations;
- Creating job hazard analysis (JHAs) for work and specific tasks;
- Implementing our client's health and safety program for a crew size of between 20-100 people;
- Facilitating safety and health trainings, tool-box talks;
- Conducting incident investigations and developing corrective actions;
- Facilitating safety and health trainings, tool-box talks;
- Providing expertise in interpreting OSHA standards related to: fall protection, PPE, hazard communication, scissor lifts/mobile equipment, powered industrial vehicles, hot work/welding/grinding, scaffolding, ladders, confined spaces, fire protection/prevention, emergency procedures, hand and power tools, walking-working surfaces, etc;
- Meeting with the general on the project during safety meetings, and
- Interacting professionally with our client and the general on the project.
- The schedule for this project is Monday through Saturday, 10-hours per day; and
- This project is expected to begin in early August and last between 15-18 months.
- Pekron will pay for all lodging and per diem;
- You will be reimbursed for mileage driving to/from the project. Daily miles driven will not be reimbursed;
- You will be able to take scheduled and approved vacations from the project.
- Have strong computer and communication (written and verbal) skills;
- Have the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and take direction from a Project Manager and client;
- Be well organized;
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening;
- Be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, working in hot/col environments, wearing fall protection and periodically working from heights;
- Have consistent access to a dependable vehicle for travel to/from work;
- Be willing to learn and want to develop as a safety & health professional;
- Be flexible with schedules and hours worked during a work week (some night and weekend work is possible); and
- Be able to successfully work in various work environments.
