Position Overview:
The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) works within their Ethical Scope of Practice at all times and follows all State and Federal laws pertaining to healthcare delivery; completes evaluations, treatments, and documentation in a timely manner; works cooperatively with team members, all internal and external customers and strives to positively represent their discipline and their company in the community.
Job Duties:
- Provide treatment following the Plan of Care as determined by the Occupational Therapist and ordered by a physician.
- Provide treatment appropriate to eval findings and within professional scope of practice and individual level of expertise of the OTA.
- Report deviations from the scheduled treatment minutes to Director of Rehab or Rehab Coordinator.
- Ensure that insurance authorization has been obtained prior to treatment.
- Report patient progress and barriers to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Regularly consult with the Occupational Therapist regarding patient response to treatment.
- Instruct rehab aides to carry out appropriate duties to support the provision of occupational therapy.
- Communicate regularly and as needed to other team members and on-call therapists regarding patient care issues.
- Coordinate scheduling issues with team members and the staffing coordinator as needed.
- Manage time and prioritize responsibilities to meet productivity expectations.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner to include daily encounter notes, contributing to progress reports for allowable payors and contribute to discharge summaries, and any other facility specific documentation.
- Make accurate and timely entries of treatment time and billing codes into the billing software according to ethical and payor requirements.
Education:
The Occupational Therapist Assistant must have graduated from an accredited Associate program of Occupational Therapy accredited by the Accreditation Council for the Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or an equivalent program if trained in a country other than the US.
Licensure:
An Occupational Therapist Assistant must possess a current, valid OTA license or limited permit. Any current disciplinary actions taken against that license must be reported to the supervisor and may result in loss of ability to work depending on the seriousness of the action.

Pay: $42.00 - $47.00 per hour
