Job Summary
This position exists to provide Camp Ripley administrative assistance and program management for the Office of the Senior Commander and the National Guard Training Site at Camp Ripley, Department of Military Affairs, State of Minnesota.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic math skills
- Must have working knowledge of computers and network administration.
- Ability to comprehend and carry out detailed oral and written instructions in a wide area of work, i.e., organization, budgetary, computer technology, personnel, environmental, and safety/security safety/security.
- Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook or equivalent software, sufficient to produce memos and correspondence in an efficient and timely manner.
- Data entry skills sufficient to input and verify data from source documents into a database with a high level of accuracy and speed, maintain accurate records and reports, and locate and correct data entry errors.
- English (speaking, writing, reading) sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and to compose and edit a variety of documents using proper business English, spelling and grammar.
- Communications skills, tact and good judgment are required in dealing with the public, attending meetings/conferences, arranging travel, prioritizing workloads, and providing liaison between supervisor and staff.
- Customer Service Skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written correspondence to answer questions and advise customers of program policies, procedures, and regulations, etc.
- Word processing skills sufficient to use software applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, to type documents, format material property, and use correct spelling/grammar.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite programs with respect to test manipulation, tables, and desktop publishing.
- Database Management skills sufficient to query and interpret data and prepare reports.
Must possess a valid drivers license
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate Degree or higher, with a heavy emphasis on computer programs.
Possess considerable knowledge of the entire MN National Guard systems, organization, programs, policies, security risks, and laws.
Possess a thorough knowledge of Camp Ripleys facilities and services.
Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations.
