1 in a designated title determined by the New York State Department of Civil Service.


PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

There are no minimum education or experience requirements.
You must take the Office Assistant 1 exam and be reachable the next time it is offered.


Duties Description The Office Assistant 1 will perform entry-level clerical and office support work to meet the department needs of the Human Resources Management Office.
Candidates must have good communication skills and be able to work as a team player.
Duties may include, but are not limited to keeping records, retrieving and compiling information, performing basic arithmetic calculations, mail, supply and inventory functions, some keyboarding and other document preparation tasks, answering telephones, completing forms, answering questions and otherwise assisting customers, and creating or assisting in the preparation of reports, charts, graphs and tables.
Assist other clerical staff as needed.
