Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a candidate to serve as an Office Associate to work at Vienna Correctional Center in the Record Office.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, task oriented, has excellent organizational skills and shows great attention to detail.
This position performs complex and statistical functions in maintaining the accuracy of individual in custody files.
Responsibilities also include keyboarding memos, letters, preparing statistical reports and reviewing such for accuracy.

Job Responsibilities

1.
Prepares and keyboards memos, letters, writs, and monthly reports including legal terminology.

2.
Assists with individual in custody call line on questions from individuals in custody.

3.
Implements the Illinois Unified Code of Corrections regarding individual in custody sentence structure and time calculations on individuals in custody received in shipment.

4.
Compiles information to prepare statistical reports.

5.
Coordinates transfers of individuals in custody to work release centers.

6.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Requires the knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school, and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.


Conditions of Employment

Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check

2.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.

3.
