Summary:

The Offset Press Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining offset press machines to produce high-quality printed materials according to customer specifications. This role demands a full commitment to excellence in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) standards, as well as quality in processes and products. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient operation of printing equipment, manage a team of technicians, and uphold strict adherence to safety and quality guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Press Operation:

    • Operate offset press machines, troubleshoot issues, and monitor operations to produce single and multicolor prints from lithographic plates.
    • Prepare plates and adjust press settings to meet job specifications.
    • Monitor ink density, paper registration, and color quality throughout production.
    • Maintain and clean press equipment, including changing plates and cylinders as needed.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure all printed materials meet customer specifications and quality standards.
    • Complete all relevant checklists and support ISO 9001-2000 standards.
    • Comply with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements, and Chain of Custody protocols.
  • OHSE Compliance:

    • Adhere to all OHSE and cleanliness policies, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow hazardous material handling procedures.
    • Maintain work areas in a safe, organized, and clean condition.
  • Leadership and Communication:

    • Oversee general technicians, making adjustments and resolving issues during production.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, providing feedback and direction as needed.
    • Develop and motivate team members, fostering a high-performance environment.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  1. Offset Press Operator Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating offset press equipment.
  2. Ability to Work Flexible Hours:

    • Must be available to work beyond standard hours as required to meet production needs.
  3. Dependability and Accountability:

    • Demonstrated reliability in job performance and responsibility for tasks.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Leadership experience, including the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Frequent lifting of objects over 60 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination.
  • Availability to work in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week as needed.
