Job Title: Senior Project Manager Logistics

Location: NorthPoint, CA | Rocklin, CA | San Jose, CA | Memphis, TN (Onsite)

Position Summary

The Project Manager Logistics is responsible for leading complex retail supply chain and IT logistics initiatives across distribution centers. This role requires strong experience in retail environments with expertise in middle mile, final mile, transportation, and reverse logistics (returns). The PM will ensure successful project execution following established project management methodologies and SDLC compliance standards.

This role demands strong planning capabilities, proactive risk identification, financial governance, and executive communication-not just technical system implementation experience.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

• Lead multiple complex logistics and IT projects simultaneously.
• Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
• Define work efforts, estimates, and execution strategies.
• Proactively identify risks and delays; implement mitigation plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across IT, Supply Chain, Operations, QA, and Business stakeholders.
• Plan and execute pre-implementation and post-implementation activities.

Logistics & Retail Focus

• Manage projects related to:
  • Middle mile transportation
  • Final mile delivery
  • Reverse logistics / returns
  • Transportation systems
  • Distribution center operations
• Support initiatives across distribution centers with IT presence.

Financial & Budget Management

• Own full project budget lifecycle including:
  • Budget planning & forecasting
  • Cost-benefit analysis
  • Earned Value (EV) and ROI tracking
  • Burn rate analysis
• Anticipate budget risks and adjust forecasts proactively.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to established SDLC and project governance standards.
• Develop project policies, procedures, and quality control standards.
• Communicate quality assurance plans and compliance requirements to stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation and regulatory alignment.

Stakeholder & Executive Communication

• Provide regular status reporting to senior leadership.
• Clearly articulate complex project risks, regulatory impacts, and interdependencies.
• Recommend project strategies based on data-driven and strategic analysis.
• Escalate critical issues to Program Management and senior leadership as needed.

Risk & Issue Management

• Orchestrate cross-functional meetings to resolve critical issues.
• Develop mitigation strategies for interdependent initiatives.
• Demonstrate strong judgment in selecting problem-solving methodologies.
• Protect sensitive and confidential corporate information.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Form, mentor, and lead high-performance cross-functional teams.
• Build strong partnerships with Developers, Architects, QA, and Product Managers.
• Negotiate with Business, Development, and Testing teams to resolve challenges.
• Positively influence change and remove organizational barriers.
• Participate in recruiting and mentoring project managers.

Required Qualifications

• Recent experience in Retail industry (mandatory).
• Strong background in:
  • Logistics & Supply Chain projects
  • Middle mile and final mile transportation
  • Returns & reverse logistics
• Experience managing IT projects within distribution center environments.
• Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial governance.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Deep understanding of project lifecycle and SDLC methodologies.
