Operating Engineer Apply
The Operating Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment and building systems. This role requires demonstrated technical expertise in at least one core trade (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing/Piping, or Central Utility Plant Operations), with the ability to support multiple disciplines to ensure reliable daily and weekly facility operations.

Operate, maintain, monitor, and repair facility systems including:

Fire, life safety, and control systems

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to keep all building systems operating at optimal performance levels.

Clean, inspect, calibrate, and replace parts on HVAC and associated equipment as needed.

Record equipment readings, make operational adjustments, and document work performed.

Support facility services including preventative maintenance scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance oversight.

Monitor the quality, scope, and pricing of work performed by outside contractors.

Perform periodic inspections of tools and instrument inventory.

Maintain compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions to eliminate risks.
Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or equivalent.

2–4 years of experience in facility maintenance or operating engineering.

Proven experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.

Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Ability to analyze system operations, diagnose malfunctions, and implement corrective actions.
