Position Summary Provide technical expertise for proper operation and repair of all instruments, control systems and mechanical and electrical equipment in the power generation and related industries. The Operations Maintenance Technician (OMT), under the direction of the Plant Operations Supervisor or Manager, performs predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control, mechanical, electronic and electrical equipment throughout the power plant. Reports To: O&M Supervisor Work Location: 24420 County Road 48, Angleton, TX 77515 Position Responsibilities Assisting with various mechanical maintenance duties including predictive maintenance, replacement of filters, gaskets, valve packing, pump alignment, compressors, bearing repacking, and rigging Wiring and disconnection of motors, replacement of thermocouples and fuses, pulling wire, and performing electrical checks Operating and monitoring combustion turbines, 13.8 kV generators and electric generation balance of plant equipment, including start up and shut down of plant equipment Understanding NERC regulations and guidelines when operating combustion turbines Reading mechanical flow diagrams, electrical on-line and wiring diagrams Ordering parts and assisting with inventory control and maintenance Applying safe work practices and participating in the station\'s safety tagging and maintaining of records Familiar with all forms of instruments and valves, HART communicators and their uses/functions Familiar with calibration procedures and their documentation Perform preventive maintenance on all major equipment and systems, including emergency backup systems Maintain complete equipment files, logs and drawings for all designated equipment Forecast, inventory, and reorder spare parts to maintain plant reliability and assist in physical inventories Participate in administrative maintenance of operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams, and maintenance records Diagnose electrical, I&C, electronic, and electrical system problems; provide technical resource for electrical and instrument operation and maintenance Conduct electrical and electronic system inspections and tests to ensure operation within specified parameters Respond to electronic and electrical malfunctions and coordinate corrective actions with the Plant Operator Analyze trends to identify potential failures and coordinate corrective actions with Operations Repair, maintain, and install electrical systems; assist in troubleshooting turbine controls and Plant DCS Perform maintenance activities including calibration, inspection, testing, lubrication, etc. Operate plant equipment (trucks, crane, forklift, manlift, etc.) Maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping Maintain electrical test equipment, tooling and shop areas Use computerized maintenance management system to generate work orders, purchase specifications, RFQs, and purchase requests Complete other tasks as requested and work irregular schedules to support power plant operations (24/7 coverage, overtime, weekends, etc.) Required Qualifications Associate degree (A.A.) in electronics or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Residence within 30 miles of the assigned plant site; occasional travel to other plant sites may be required 2 years’ experience with LM6000 Gas Turbines operations and maintenance Flexible work schedules, including weekend overtime or shift times as required Must read, write and speak fluent English Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check US work authorization required; sponsorship will not be considered Desired Qualifications Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to communicate effectively with employees Mathematical proficiency and use of calculator for unit conversions and basic arithmetic Ability to solve practical problems and handle concrete variables Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions Technical competence in software, hardware, and networks Physical Requirements Ability to work standing for extended periods Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and platforms Ability to lift and maneuver at least 50 lbs and work in close quarters Ability to follow PPE guidelines and wear protective equipment as required Ability to work outdoors in changing climate conditions Ability to work kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing Work with hazardous materials may be required It is PROENERGY’s policy to provide equal opportunity in employment to all its employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, national origin, marital status, ancestry, medical condition, military status, or any other characteristic protected by State or Federal law. #J-18808-Ljbffr
