Job title: Operations Director (IT Asset Disposition)

Location: Bay area CA

Duration: 6+ Months Contract to Hire

Operations Director - ITAD (IT Asset Disposition)

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Full Ownership for VRS operations in all areas from planning, production, quality, warehouse, inventory, productivity matrixes and achievement of financial parameters and ratios and clearly understands profit and loss accounts of a program and can speak to the underlying influencing factors.
  • Provides strong personal leadership and direction to the team members and leads by example to create a cohesive winning team on the program(s) focused on delivering maximum throughput given the available capacities and inventories but at minimum cost effect.
  • Manages internal and external facing relationships to provide communication of customer requirements and implementation of customer program(s).
  • Be able to proactively identify and act to avoid operational performance issues that impact the agreed KPIs, SLAs or revenue and profit goals.
  • Be able to manage the inventory/capacity/revenue equation to maximize revenues and EBITDA with available resources.
  • Responsible for the monthly forecasts whereby engineering and/or product changes are considered, together with productivity improvement impacts.
  • Responsible for continuous optimizing inventory by monitoring availability measured against inventory turn rate.
  • Ensures that KPIs for the programs are met by monitoring those daily with the team and reports out weekly to management.
  • Attends management meetings presenting fact-based data on revenue growth opportunities within the available inventory & capacity outlook.
  • Champions key projects for process improvements such as yield enhancements, labor efficiency, waste elimination, up the value chain activities and reduced cycle times and improved material/inventory management on the program, to show MOM, YOY proven performance and matrixes enhancements in line with a continuous improvement approach.
  • Determines and controls staffing levels in an effort to maximize net returns while maintaining satisfactory quality levels, ensuring fully trained skill structure and knowledge is maintained at all levels.
  • Promotes positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
  • Share and seek knowledge transfer from other related VRS active sites.
  • Work strongly with the VRS global teams to ensure clear and precise communication and coordination.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

Education/ Work Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience within Value Recovery and circularity, with at least 3 years in a leadership role from an established ITAD / VRS environment organization.
  • Experience in the VRS is paramount, AMS space advantageous.
  • Understanding of the value-recovery business entrepreneurial methods
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, R2, Environmental reporting and Lean Manufacturing is a must.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, motivate and influence his/ her peers and staff show the drive for results.
  • Demonstrated success in obtaining results through effective personal leadership, planning, communication, and effective resource management.
  • Builds and fosters work relationships and teamwork coaches and develops oneself and others.
  • Displays strong business/commercial/financial acumen with the ability to add value in understanding customer requirements and needs.
  • Continually drives for best-in-class industry achievement and recognition
  • Able to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Flexible in terms of working hours when needed as role is part of a global team where management is based in different time zones
