Job Type: Full-time / On-site Shift + Hours: 1st Shift How You’ll Make An Impact As an Operations Leader, you’ll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. Operations Leader has primary responsibility for the safe, environmentally responsible, reliable, and productive operation of the unit or area, aligned with business and site requirements and goals. This person would be expected to supervise a reasonable number of people and would be accountable for performance management, coaching and career development. In This Role, You Will Determine appropriate staffing and assignment of operators. Ensure accurate and complete recording of asset utilization losses. Ensure safe and efficient execution of the unit task and activity list. Manage operational overtime in alignment with unit requirements, goals and constraints. Lead and coach shift teams to meet business and plant goals. Ensure operating discipline requirements are in place and the Procedure Use Policy is followed. Implement and ensure effectiveness of work processes, standard work practices and operating discipline. Create an environment for team and individual empowerment. Complete the requirements for performance management to maximize the contribution of shift personnel within the unit. Share and leverage knowledge, experience, and best practices with operators. Promote implementation of the CORE 4 principles within the unit. Perform or support simple problem solving, formal Root Cause analyses and the 4- Step Core Problem solving principles. Participate in Root Cause Investigations as necessary. Encourage shift team members to develop skills and knowledge to improve their individual, as well as unit performance. Assist shift teams in value assessing tasks and activities. Assist the Training Coordinator leading the shift teams in developing the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform designated operator care for the plant. Develop the resource loaded task and activity list to assist with the process of determining optimum staffing. Required Qualifications That Enable Your Success High School Diploma 15 years of operational experience within a chemical plant with 3 years as a shift manager required Excellent interpersonal communication skills Preferred Qualifications That Drive You Forward Experience directly training operators Knowledge and experience using Continuous Improvement Tools Your Work Environment The work environment may include standing, walking, operating equipment for extended periods, working in a lab or manufacturing setting with PPE, use of computers and digital tools, occasional lifting or movement of materials, and adherence to rigorous safety protocols and ergonomic standards.
