Operations LeaderOperations Leader Primarily focus upon how the business operates. Business processes throughout the business are within the scope of this vital role. Additional roles can included leading and managing associates involved with activities in the front, floor, and back end of our stores which include check-out areas, returns, special services, computer systems and receiving (as assigned).The major responsibilities for this position include:Have fun everyday while achieving superior resultsBuild subject matter expertise of business operationsTeach and share with team members business operations processes, procedures, and quality assurance expectationsLead team members indirectly (without being their direct supervisor)Lead team members directly (as their direct supervisor)Be the example of positivity, good attitude, helpfulness, kindness, and deliberately caring about othersDeliberately recognize others doing wellEnable the success of team members and customersContribute to the development the weekly work scheduleBuild knowledge of inventory managements tools and roles throughout the businessMaintain record keeping accuratelyEnsure that open/close procedures are followedEnsure that all daily inventory management tasks are completed. Including: Stocking. zero outs, rain checks, special orders, and cycle countingResolve customer issues in a timely and satisfactory mannerMake sure that the sales floor is clear, organized and properly signed, and that the receiving floor is clear of pallets and trashResponsible for training all associates on store policies and proceduresDelegate daily workload among associatesEnforces safety policies and procedures; is a safety role modelThe minimum requirements for this position include:Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred.Posses a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learnExperience: Minimum of 1-3 years retail experience in various roles (helpful)Skills/Knowledge: personable leadership style and analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situationsStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to lead and develop othersAbility to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detailKnowledge of profit and loss drivers within all areas of the businessKnowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the businessThe minimum physical requirements for this position include:Ability to stand for an extended period of timeMove and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forthAbility to lift and/or support 60lbs productsJob responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.We are your local hardware store and we are a part of your community.
