About the Role

This role is responsible for leading and executing operational strategy across a defined market and product line. The position oversees all operational functions with a focus on productivity, efficiency, customer service, employee engagement, and retention. Success in this role requires building a strong, safety-focused culture while delivering financial and operational performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the General Manager and cross-functional support teams to develop regional objectives and long-term strategic goals.
  • Translate company objectives into measurable goals and ensure successful execution across the area of responsibility.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to managers to ensure operational performance meets business targets.
  • Support regional profitability by identifying opportunities for improvement, maximizing efficiencies, and leveraging resources across the business.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of operating budgets.
  • Conduct regular operational reviews to evaluate cost drivers, financial performance, production volumes, inventory levels, material usage, and overall capacity.
  • Review financial statements, cost reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify productivity trends, cost reduction opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety and environmental compliance, ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Partner closely with Safety and Environmental teams to ensure all permit requirements, regulatory obligations, and environmental conditions are met.
  • Develop workforce plans, staffing strategies, and project schedules to support operational needs.
  • Oversee all aspects of personnel management, including recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, disciplinary actions, and succession planning.
  • Build high-performing teams by developing employees, improving skill levels, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce turnaround times, and improve service levels.
  • Analyze KPIs and operational metrics to identify trends and implement strategies that improve productivity and performance.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to address customer service, fleet, labor, and union-related matters.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen employee morale, engagement, and motivation while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Prioritize workloads effectively to meet operational demands, training requirements, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Champion safety leadership and ensure the highest standards of workplace safety are consistently maintained.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Preferred fields of study include Operations Management, Business, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline


Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant operational leadership experience


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using SAP


Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to comply with all company safety policies and properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators where applicable.
  • Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass fit testing, subject to applicable law.
