Summary/Objective: The Operations Manager will provide technical leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations of Eighth Fire Communications, ensuring the reliable and efficient delivery of high-speed internet services to the Lac du Flambeau community. This role requires a technically skilled individual who can manage and maintain the technical infrastructure, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement new technologies to improve network performance and customer satisfaction. Essential Job Functions: Manage and maintain the technical infrastructure, including network devices, servers, and software applications. Troubleshoot complex technical issues, including network outages, slow speeds, and connectivity problems. Implement new technologies to improve network performance and customer satisfaction. Develop and implement technical policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and scalability. Develop and manage technical training programs for staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively. Conduct regular network audits to identify areas for improvement and optimize network performance. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a network outage or disaster. Manage and maintain network security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption. Collaborate with customer support teams to resolve technical issues and improve customer satisfaction. Develop and manage technical documentation, including network diagrams, technical guides, and troubleshooting manuals. Manage and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with company policies. Develop and manage budgets for technical projects and initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and return on investment. Develop and implement performance metrics and monitoring systems to ensure technical staff are meeting expectations. Manage and prioritize technical projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and meeting of deadlines. Develop and maintain technical standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Collaborate with other departments to ensure technical alignment and support of business objectives. Develop and manage technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise and manage technical staff, including recruiting, training, and evaluating personnel. Oversee teams responsible for service installations, customer support, and technical operations. Implement strong technical practices to ensure efficiency, task prioritization, and consistent performance monitoring. Strong technical skills, with knowledge of network protocols, devices, and architectures. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement new technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff and customers. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. Commitment to superior customer service and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field. 3 or more years of experience in a technical role, preferably in the telecommunications industry. Demonstrated success in managing and maintaining technical infrastructure, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and implementing new technologies. A combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of education requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with broadband technologies and service deployment strategies. Familiarity with network management systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuration. An advanced degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field is advantageous. Physical Demands: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate the production facility. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
