Location: Bolingbrook, IL
This role is based in the greater Chicago area (southwest suburbs)
Bonus eligibility (target 15%, max 30% of base)
Relocation assistance available
Growth path exists for those open to future mobility within the organization

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an Operations Manager over transportation to join a Fortune 500 team.
This leader will own a multi-state transportation operation supporting 96+ drivers across 6 states
and 17 domiciles. The role reports to the site senior operations manager and partners closely with
a parallel warehouse/cross-dock OM.
What You'll Own
  • Full transportation operations: routing, dispatch, scheduling, maintenance coordination,
  • and staffing
  • Controllables within the transportation portion of the site P&L (fleet sizing, PM
  • compliance, staffing budget)
  • Direct customer interface on delivery issues, route delays, and escalations
  • Building a culture of accountability, follow-up, and consistent policy execution
  • Schedule
  • Monday: 9:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday Friday: 12:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m.
  • On-call for critical incidents (accidents, injuries, safety)
  • First 90 Days Focus
  • Engage and learn the team
  • Drive correct execution of SOPs and policies
  • Establish accountability around on-time departure and customer performance
  • Key Performance Drivers
  • On-time delivery (target 97%)
  • Scanning accuracy (target 99%)
  • Return scanning / RLV (target 99%)
  • Claims reduction
What Success Looks Like
You are a proven leader who builds strong relationships with customers, internal partners, and
frontline associates. You communicate clearly (orally and in writing), adjust your style to the
audience, and are comfortable having direct conversations with both drivers and senior
stakeholders. You thrive in a matrixed environment and can pivot with the needs of the business.
Transportation management experience is preferred. Strong leadership from transportation-
adjacent operations will also be considered. Automotive experience is a plus but not required.
