RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises and manages all staff and manufacturing activities on 1st shift with primary responsibility being GP Operations. Oversees and assures production of product to meet daily production schedules and quality objectives. Coordinates with other departments, i.e., Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Quality Control and Cost Accounting. Ensures that product produced meets all USDA standards as well as the internal controls in place through HACCP, Standard Sanitation Operation Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practice programs. Trains properly and utilizes personnel to achieve labor efficiency goals. Assures standard yield objectives are consistently obtained. Assures the effective and efficient use of labor hours, raw materials, in process materials and supplies are used to minimize production costs. Ensures that all work rules and company policies are being followed. Assures timely and accurate completion of administrative duties in accordance with established requirements. Holds responsibility for extensively coaching, mentoring and developing all members of the subordinate staff, hourly and salaried. Responsible for the overall coordination of the Grocery Product Operations and the KPI’s associated with that. Owner of 1st shift HPS process and compliance. Direct reports include one production manager. QUALIFICATIONS Required A bachelor's degree or significant industry experience. Proven track record of results in plant supervision, with a minimum of 5 years plant operations experience. A pattern of initiative and leadership. Strong problem-solving, decision making, and project management skills. Highly developed interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States. Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa. Preferred Previous food manufacturing leadership experience highly preferred. LOCATION Tucker, GA At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $107,500 - $150,400 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location. Other components of Hormel Foods’ total compensation package includes comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage, discretionary annual merit increases, bonuses and profit sharing, 401(k) with employer match, stock purchase plan, paid vacation, FREE two-year community/technical college tuition for children of employees, and more.
