General Description:Assist with all aspects of Summit Agricultural Group's farm operations with exposure to the Cattle, Row Crop, and Manure. This role will learn each area of production while providing guidance, as directed. Essential Job Responsibilities:CattleOversee and ensure the good health of cattle including daily observation and reporting, administration of vaccinations, administering and/or verifying treatment protocols, and inventory control of commodities, medications, implants, and vaccinationsDeliver and load feed while ensuring correct rations and feed times are established, ensure truck loads are maximized with weights and rations, and complete all daily paperworkMaintain facilities, equipment, and fencesRow CropWillingness to assist in all aspects of crop production, from input application to grain handling and transportationOperate large scale production agricultural equipment while utilizing precision technologyDocument and track overall equipment and equipment maintenanceManureOperate manure equipment safely and properly while performing maintenance/repairs, as neededDuring seasonal months lead the application of manureDirecting overall workflow of operations based on field readinessEnsure proper rate of manure is appliedMake certain manure toolbar functions as it shouldEnsure hose is moved efficiently to keep applicator movingMake sure hose is moved properly to prevent hose rupturesTroubleshooting equipment issues as they ariseCoordinate repairs services for issues beyond the teams abilitiesAssist in the movement of pumps and hoses from pit to pitCompletion of special projects by coordinating with Farm Manager and other Summit Agricultural Group employees on an as-needed basisAll other duties assigned by the ManagerEducation, Experience, and Other Qualifications:Obtained a college degree in an agriculture-related field, preferred but not required.Prior knowledge and experience within the agricultural sector.Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and prioritize daily responsibilities.Individual who possesses a strong work ethic and self-starter mentalityValid Driver's LicenseCDL preferred, not requiredBasic Computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Excel)Work Environment:This position may require some tasks to be performed in outside weatherThe noise level in the work environment and job sites can beWhile performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations.Physicality Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting, and different hand movements as needed to complete tasksSpecific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjustAbility to lift up to 75 pounds along with climbing up ladders and over gatesPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position with the expected days and hours to be Monday-Friday with rotating weekend required with the occasional evening requirements to meet demands.
