Operations Supervisor Apply
Overview This position will oversee and assist in managing various production, maintenance, and logistical processes. It will ensure overall safety, quality, and efficiency expectations are met. This role works directly with the Operations Director to ensure goods and services are produced in a timely manner, meet quality and quantity standards, and standard shipping meets customer satisfaction. Primary Duties And Responsibilities Direct all plant operations on the assigned shift to meet the production schedule. Direct all warehouse operations on the assigned shift to meet the logistics schedule. Assist the Maintenance Department in developing, implementing, and managing preventative maintenance. Plan, organize, and control the production and packaging of chemical products according to schedule and specifications. Supervise and evaluate the work of direct reports. Ensure safe operations. Control costs. Perform routine inspections of the plant and/or warehouse and equipment to identify and correct potential safety and health hazards. Maintain the facility in a clean and safe condition. Reduce downtime. Administer discipline as needed. Assist in inventory counts. Receive raw materials, packaging material, parts, and parcel shipments. Receive manufactured products and resale products into the warehouse confirming item count and lot numbers. Willingness to follow, teach, and enforce various policies, procedures, and guidelines as deemed by the Company (e.g. ISO, DOT, etc.). Ability to lead by example and enforce teamwork among all levels of TIB CC (e.g., ability to build a healthy rapport with direct reports, coworkers, customers, etc.). Ability to foster, demonstrate and teach personal accountability. Willingness to ABL (always be learning) and/or ABT (always be teaching). Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in technical field or chemistry. 5 years’ experience in the chemical process industry in a management/supervisory role. Basic understanding and hands-on experience with QC testing. Ability to oversee simultaneous small to medium-scale capital projects. Demonstrable experience working with a unionized workforce. Function Provide operational coverage based on need. Assist the Operations Director in production planning, inventory management, ERP functions, and raw material ordering. Assist with various project management tasks (e.g. CAPEX projects, work instructions, equipment modifications, etc.). Communicate with various internal departments to ensure product quality and shipping timetables are met. Promote safety in the workforce according to guidelines and regulations enforced at TIB CC. Evaluate and improve manufacturing techniques in the most economical and cost-effective way without sacrificing product quality. Work Environment This job operates in an industrial and administrative setting. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Equipment Operated Basic office equipment (e.g. phone, computer with Word/Excel, copier, printer, etc.). Basic hand and power tools. Position Type And Expected Hours Of Work This is a full-time position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The employee must work 37.5 hours per week to maintain full-time status. This position may require long hours and frequent overtime based on operational needs and may include schedule flexibility to cover various shifts. Call-off coverage will be necessary.
