Database Administrator (Oracle 11g) – Remote with occasional travel to Telford – £500-£600 per day Outside IR35 – 3 months+Please note: Due to the nature of the project, successful applicants will be required to be SC cleared prior to appointment.This is a mainly remote role but requires someone local to Telford, who can travel occasionally and on short notice (due to escalations / support).My client is a global IT consultancy. They are seeking an experienced Oracle 11g Database Administrator to join a structured production support team responsible for maintaining business critical systems operating within a 24 by 7 live service environment. Key Responsibilities:Provide production support for Oracle 11g databases within a 24 by 7 live service environmentDiagnose and resolve incidents, including priority and major incidentsPerform database performance tuning and optimisationManage RMAN backup and recovery processesSupport Data Guard and disaster recovery arrangementsImplement database changes through controlled change management processesApply security patches and maintain compliance standardsProduce and maintain operational documentation and support runbooksEssential Skills and Experience:Strong hands on experience supporting Oracle 11g in a 24 by 7 production environmentProven expertise in RMAN backup and recoveryExperience with Oracle Data GuardSolid SQL and PL SQL capabilityExperience of performance diagnostics and tuningExperience supporting Oracle on Linux or Unix platformsFamiliarity with ITIL aligned service management processesExperience supporting high availability and mission critical systemsDesirableExperience with OEM, ASM or RACExposure to later Oracle versionsScripting capability in Shell or PythonExperience within regulated or high assurance environments This temporary contract is outside IR35 and will be delivered on a statement-of-work basis. The supplier will determine the method, resources, and approach to deliver the agreed outcomesThis temporary contract requires the successful candidate to undergo and be eligible for UK Security Vetting at SC/DV level. Clearance sponsorship will be provided where required. Due to the nature of the work, candidates should meet the relevant residency requirements.
