HR/Payroll System Support Specialist This position will be working with the current HR/Payroll team to maintain legacy systems which include the main frame application Maine Financial and Administrative Statewide Information System Oracle Time and Attendance system, and to provide support for W-2 and year end activities. This contract is intended to address the need for extra support until such time that the new HRMS application goes live. There are several projects that are in process to address maintenance of current systems that were deferred, and the workload has exceeded what two persons can handle. Top 3 Skills Skill 1: COBOL – Common business-oriented language Skill 2: DB2 - Created by IBM, Db2 is primarily a relational database management system (DBMS) Skill 3: JCL - Job Control Language is the command language of Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS), which is the commonly used Operating System in the IBM Mainframe Must have a high level of expertise in each skill. HR/Payroll background is a plus but not required. Desired Skills: Must have mainframe skills: COBOL, Eztrieve, JCL, DB2, CICS, and File-Aid (Mainframe DB2 is similar to SQL. It’s important because the mainframe issues SQL commands to the Oracle database to get timesheet data from TAMS.) Nice to have skills: ESP Job scheduler. If possible, we want someone who has experience with: Infor/GEAC M Series payroll and personnel system.
