Farm and Maintenance Manager

Breeden’s Orchard – Mount Juliet, TN

About Us
Breeden’s Orchard is a historic family-friendly apple and peach orchard welcoming guests to experience agriculture up close — from tasting our delicious baked goods and fresh cider to joining educational field trips and enjoying recreation on the farm. We take pride in preserving local agricultural heritage while providing authentic farm experiences for visitors of all ages.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Farm and Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily operation and upkeep of our orchard, grounds, equipment, and facilities. This role combines agricultural management with hands-on maintenance and project work. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and comfortable working across multiple aspects of our farm and agritourism business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily orchard and farm operations, including pruning, planting, mowing, irrigation, and seasonal crop care.
  • Oversee care and feeding of small farm animals.
  • Perform general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs across buildings and equipment.
  • Operate tractors, loaders, and other farm machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and repair vehicles, trailers, and equipment as needed.
  • Support general farm projects and improvements (fencing, landscaping, signage, etc.).
  • Assist with visitor-facing operations as needed — from preparing the site for events to helping in retail or checkout areas during peak seasons.
  • Monitor inventory and supplies for farm and maintenance operations.
  • Coordinate with owners and team members on scheduling, priorities, and seasonal planning.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time, year-round position (weekend and seasonal availability required).
  • Compensation commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunities for growth as the orchard expands its agricultural and visitor programs.

Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: In person

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in farm management, orchard operations, or agricultural maintenance required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated skills in carpentry, plumbing, and/or basic electrical work.
  • Experience operating farm machinery (tractor, loader, mower, etc.) and hauling with trucks/trailers.
  • Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to assist in all aspects of farm operations — from tree pruning to customer interaction.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the role: standing, walking, lifting up to 70 lbs, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
