Description

Job Description: This position will support the focus and expansion of our work in the area of inclusion and culturally responsive practices ensuring that we are responsive to student and family needs, while building an understanding and acceptance of differences between and among students and families. Additionally, an emphasis on developing strategies around and including; school to home connections, restorative justice, truancy and coping skills will be essential for this position.

Make strong connections with students and families.
Have a disposition to manage crisis and be flexible with change and approach.
Collaborate closely with all related service providers, both in district and in the community.
Advocate to teachers/counselors/administration for the needs of students and their families helping to ensure that all student needs are being met.
Promotes efforts on diversity and equity, establishes best practices and utilizes skills to remove barriers for students of diverse backgrounds.
Responds to individual family requests for support by connecting families with school,
district or community-based resources.
Serves as a liaison between community groups, school administrators and staff.
Provides information about culturally relevant ways to reach out to families and
students.
Responds to individual family requests for support by connecting families with school,
district or community-based resources.
Implement restorative justice best practices to meet the needs of students/families.
Demonstrate a commitment to working with at-risk students with multiple learning needs and strengths.
Leads small groups and one-on-one instruction under the guidance of a teacher.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
Flexible daily schedule to permit attendance at assigned meetings/professional learning.
Work involves flexibility of time to permit before/after school and evening meetings with students, parents and/or staff and/or for professional learning.
Work involves travel within the district.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:
Must meet the highly qualified status based on two years post high school education and/or associates degree as designated in Wisconsin state statutory requirements (Sections 1114, 1115, and 1119)
High school diploma

Licenses, Certifications:
Must have valid drivers license.
DPI Licensure (License Number: 0070)
