Sales Engineer (Life Sciences & Chemicals) Trending Job Description If you are a Sales (Life Sciences & Chemicals) professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career: this is a front‑line, growth‑focused role where you will identify, develop, and secure new customer relationships across the Life Sciences market in Seregno, Italy (Life Sciences with relevant exposure to batch chemicals). You will engage customers early—often before formal projects or specifications exist—helping them modernize regulated manufacturing through Emerson’s automation and digital portfolio while living our values of innovation, integrity, collaboration, and inclusion. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Identify, engage, and develop new customer relationships within Life Sciences (such as pharmaceutical, biotech, and CDMO organizations) and, where relevant, batch chemical manufacturing. Create demand in new and emerging accounts by engaging customers early—often before formal projects or specifications are defined. Build and execute a structured territory and account development plan to generate a sustainable, high‑quality sales pipeline. Establish trusted relationships with a broad range of customer stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Quality/Validation, IT/Digital teams, and site or business leadership. Position Emerson’s automation and digital portfolio as an integrated, lifecycle‑focused solution that addresses operational, regulatory, and business challenges. Lead consultative, value‑based discussions and coordinate internal technical experts as needed to support customer success. Collaborate closely with internal teams, including pre‑sales, services, and delivery, to ensure a consistent and positive customer experience. Maintain accurate opportunity information and pipeline management within CRM systems, with a focus on long‑term (12–24 month) opportunity horizons. Act with integrity and in alignment with Emerson’s ethics, compliance, and trade requirements in all customer and business activities. Share market insights and customer feedback to support continuous improvement and strategic decision‑making. Who You Are: You learn quickly when facing new situations and use curiosity to understand complex customer challenges. You build strong, trust‑based relationships and work effectively with diverse people and perspectives. You focus on understanding what matters most to customers and translate that understanding into practical, long‑term solutions. You set clear goals, stay organized, and persist through challenges to deliver results—while consistently acting with transparency, accountability, and respect for others. For This Role, You Will Need: Experience supporting or selling solutions within Life Sciences (pharma, biotech, CDMO) and/or batch chemical industries. Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and early customer engagement. Experience or strong interest in consultative, solution‑oriented selling within technical or regulated environments. The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. A working understanding of automation, digital solutions, or software‑driven manufacturing concepts, or the ability to learn and apply them quickly. Strong planning, prioritization, and pipeline management skills. Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned territory. Proficiency in Italian and English sufficient for customer‑facing and internal collaboration. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Familiarity with process automation, manufacturing software, or digital transformation initiatives in regulated environments.
