What We Seek

The Ebbert Co. is the premier construction-focused, multi-line representation agency. We seek an Outside Sales Manager responsible for building relationships and growing sales within San Diego and Orange Counties. The position will require time spent at our Fountain Valley office (10-15%), along with most of your time spent visiting and growing accounts within your exclusive territory.


We're very much in the relationship business and serve as the intermediary between tool manufacturers and the distributors that sell those tools. To be successful in this role you must have a passion for construction and not shy away from learning every day. You can't be afraid to toss on a pair of work boots and speak confidently at jobsites with seasoned contractors, while also having the ability to deliver presentations to a room full of executives. We seek someone who exudes positive energy and who is driven by setting and crushing big sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Hunter mentality, self-starter, driven by big commissions
  • Visit 4-6 existing and potential new distributors and/or jobsites daily
  • Record all activity in our CRM
  • Attend industry tradeshows, applicable trainings, and events
  • Conduct trainings and demonstrations for end users and distributors
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the tools that we help sell
  • Assist with distributor merchandising efforts
  • Familiarity with social media and a willingness to post and promote company related content
  • Ideally already living in either San Diego or Orange Counties


Qualifications

Having worked in construction, outside sales, and/or industrial distribution will be hugely beneficial. We don't expect anyone to be an expert in everything that we sell, but we do expect you to put in the time and effort to learn about it. You will not be a good fit if you require micromanaging. We seek a high energy, self-starting, problem solving, positive person. Our office environment is business casual, positive and supportive. The role will require plenty of time behind the wheel, so you must have a valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record. While it is not required, a conversational understanding of Spanish will be helpful. You should be very comfortable using a CRM, as well as other office related software and hardware tools.


Salary

$70,000-$85,000 annual base salary, depending on experience, plus quarterly commissions and a highly competitive benefits package.


Hours

Full-time requirement, primarily Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend travel and trade show participation required.
