The provide innovative packaging solutions that combine design, engineering, testing, and fulfillment of custom packaging. With decades of experience, they are dedicated to delivering high-quality packaging that ensures product protection, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented Packaging Design Engineer I to join their team and contribute to the creation of impactful packaging designs while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and methodologies.Responsibilities:Collaborate with internal and external customers to create packaging solutions aligned with industry standards and specifications.Develop and update packaging designs, including materials, dimensions, and tolerances to optimize manufacturing efficiency and cost.Participate in customer site visits to gather accurate design requirements and evaluate packaging needs.Create detailed CAD drawings and renderings to support manufacturing and design processes.Perform packaging tests such as drop, vibration, inclined impact, and compression tests in compliance with ASTM/ISTA standards.Prepare and maintain documentation for design specifications, engineering analyses, and test results.Assist in prototype creation and validation to ensure packaging performance meets customer requirements.Provide CAD and graphics support for equipment operations, such as Kongsberg tables and digital printers.Collaborate with the quality team to develop inspection forms and technical documentation.Update existing Bill of Materials (BOM) and modify technical drawings as needed.Must-Have Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 1 year of experience in packaging/structural design and development.Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks and ArtiosCAD.Strong understanding of corrugated and wooden packaging, distribution packaging, and package testing.Knowledge of ASTM/ISTA standards and transportation/material handling requirements.Nice-to-Have Skills:General knowledge of clean room acceptable packaging materials.Experience with CNC programming and Kongsberg tables.Ability to use measuring equipment like calipers, accelerometers, and data acquisition software.Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
