Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions for new and existing products. Select and qualify appropriate packaging materials based on cost, performance, and sustainability requirements. Conduct rigorous testing and validation of packaging to ensure product protection, regulatory compliance, and shipping integrity. Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and marketing teams to integrate packaging designs into production processes. Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives related to packaging materials and processes. Manage packaging specifications, documentation, and bills of material (BOMs). Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues on the production line or during transit. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. 3-5 years of experience in packaging development, design, or engineering within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and understanding of packaging testing standards (e.g., ISTA, ASTM). Strong knowledge of various packaging materials (plastics, paperboard, flexibles) and their manufacturing processes. Demonstrated ability to manage packaging projects from concept through production launch, focusing on cost, quality, and efficiency. Bonus Qualifications Experience with sustainable packaging materials and circular economy principles. Proficiency in packaging simulation software (e.g., CAPE, TOPS). Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of industry-specific packaging regulations (e.g., FDA, ISTA).
