Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Panel Builder to assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong electrical knowledge, attention to detail, and hands-on experience building industrial control panels.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble electrical control panels, junction boxes, and enclosures
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Install and wire components such as PLCs, VFDs, relays, breakers, power supplies, and terminal blocks
- Perform point-to-point wiring and labeling to industry standards
- Test panels for functionality, continuity, and compliance with specifications
- Troubleshoot wiring issues and make necessary corrections
- Maintain a clean and safe work area following safety procedures
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers
- Document work completed and report any issues or material shortages
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in electrical panel building or related electrical work
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Familiarity with industrial control components and wiring standards
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLC systems and automation controls
- Knowledge of UL 508A standards (or similar)
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Electrical certification or apprenticeship experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
Work Environment
- Manufacturing or workshop setting
- May involve exposure to noise, dust, and electrical equipment
