Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal specializing in probate and trust administration to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of probate, estate settlement, and trust management processes. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a client-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in managing estate and trust administration cases from inception to completion.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including petitions, inventories, accountings, and affidavits.
- Coordinate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and court officials to gather and exchange necessary information.
- Handle probate filings and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
- Work with financial advisors and CPAs to gather necessary documents for the preparation of income tax returns for estates and trusts.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Manage asset valuations, transfers, and distributions for estates and trusts.
- Conduct legal research and provide administrative support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a paralegal specializing in estate and trust administration.
- Strong knowledge of probate laws, trust laws, and estate tax regulations.
- Proficiency with legal software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Certification as a paralegal or equivalent credentials preferred.
