Pay Range: $24/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of legal related tasks under the direct supervision of an attorney.
- Provides professional assistance and support to the legal staff in the development, research, management and resolution of legal issues involving their business unit.
- Prepares and drafts routine legal documents, agreements and pleadings related to litigation and non-litigation matters.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Typically one year of experience in a paralegal capacity.
- Working knowledge of paralegal concepts, procedures and practices. Knowledge of operations, practices and procedures of general counsel or civil litigation.
- Knowledge of the filing requirements of relevant courts and administrative agencies.
- Must have a demonstrated knowledge in legal research and deposition motion practices as well as appellate procedures.
- Analytical, research and organizational skills.
- Ability to set work priorities that conform with established standards.
- Ability able to give presentations in both formal and informal settings.
- Strong verbal and written skills for contact with associates, attorneys, clients and customers.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related legal and business software and data bases.
- Undergraduate studies in business administration, insurance or other related area preferred.
- Certification in paralegal studies or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Personal Injury Protection (\\\"PIP\\\") is preferred but not required.
