Paralegal Sr Apply
We are hiring a Paralegal Sr. for one of our clients in Trenton, NJ.
Job Description:
- This position will support Children's System of Care (CSOC)-related litigation and report to the Office of Legal Affairs. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Maintain open communication with identified points of contact at CSOC regarding youth court involvement.
- Collect documents relevant to a youth's court case(s).
- Conducts independent research into legal areas of concern regarding his/her own work and preparation.
- Maintain youth timelines with ongoing updates provided by CSOC staff and provider agencies. To include ongoing court involvement details within the updates. This will be done by reviewing data systems (CYBER, NJSPIRIT), clinical documentation, provider agency summaries and any additional relevant information.
- Prepare formal correspondence to agencies, courts, and others with whom the employing agency must correspond, involving legal points of interest and matters in issue.
- Liaise with the Office of the Attorney General as required.
- Facilitate CYBER record downloads for DCF Legal when needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Will be required to learn to utilize various types of information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Skills required:
- Knowledge of fundamental legal principles and concepts.
- Knowledge of research techniques.
- Knowledge of legal publications and periodicals, and the procedures for extracting information contained therein.
- Ability to interpret and apply New Jersey Statutes and regulations.
- Ability to communicate ideas in written form in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
- Ability to understand the complexities and uses of pertinent and evidentiary laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to prepare correspondence.
- Ability to prepare technically sound, accurate, and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Ability to establish and maintain records and files.
- Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Work hours:
- Monday-Friday,9am-5pm (35 hours per week)
- Lunch - 1 hour (Unpaid)
