Responsibilities

1. Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans, instructional activities, and individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
2. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring academic engagement and positive behavior reinforcement.
3. Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
4. Support students with special needs by adapting learning materials and utilizing strategies recommended by the teacher or support staff.
5. Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and during transitions to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.

Requirements

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement (Learning Behavior Specialist).
• Previous experience working in a school, special education, or youth support setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Ability to follow teacher-led instruction and adapt to various learning needs.
