DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the role of a DCNR Park Resource Ranger, responsibilities include ensuring public safety within Moraine State Park Complex, assisting with administrative tasks at the marinas, and serving as the main point of contact at various park locations. The position involves educating visitors on park regulations, providing information, and safeguarding park resources.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time seasonal employment, 37.5 hours per week, without benefits
  • Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, weekend and holiday work required. Scheduled days can vary to meet park needs, will work 5 days per week
  • Seasonal position at a 7 day per week operational facility
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No minimum experience and training required.

Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • All employees must obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.

Other Requirements:
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
