Part Time After School Youth Respite Provider w|Full Time Summer Care: Hartland, WI Apply
This role requires a caring and dedicated individual who is passionate about providing quality care to individuals in their own home. Schedule for this position includes weekdays starting after school and/or flexible weekend hours, turning to full time in summer. Flexible Scheduling Teachers, teacher assistants, paraprofessionals, ABA therapists, behavioral technicians, someone with passion and experience in caregiving and advocating for kids or adolescents, college students going to school for nursing, speech, OT, PT, teaching, etc. would be a great fit for this position.
Duties:
- Provide in-home care and support to individual/teen with Cerebral Palsy
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Provide positive role modeling and engage in age-appropriate activities with the individual
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the individual
- Respect and uphold the rights of the individual, ensuring their privacy and dignity
- Drive the individual to community activities as required
Skills:
- Experience with behavior management and de-escalation techniques
- Knowledge of different developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for the individual's privacy
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
