The Warwick Community School and Warwick School District is Massachusettss newest publicschool district. Nestled into the scenic woodlands, along the border of Massachusetts, NewHampshire and Vermont, our beautiful and innovative elementary school opened in the fallof 2023. The school sits on a 25-acre outdoor campus that features a vernal pool, a cranberry bog and Mount Grace for hiking! Mother foxes have been seen raising their cubs right outside the classroom windows.
We have many school gardens and plan to build more to support both our curriculum and our farm-to-table lunch program.We are seeking an art teacher with experience teaching an array of studio art techniques. An ideal teacher would bring experience with collage, ceramics, printmaking, mosaic making, oil and water color painting, drawing, and fiber arts. We are seeking art teachers who would enjoy collaborating with classroom teachers on interdisciplinary projects and who would help facilitate our artist-in-residence program. Ideal candidates would share a broad array of multicultural current artists as well as historical figures to inspire our young artists.
Finally, ideal candidates will have experience with Responsive Classroom, as an positive approach to developing classroom culture, or will be willing to participate in training. Ideal candidates will be eager to join a team of educators committed to collaboration, creative problem solving and learning together. We engage in regular professional learning and coaching together - some of which happens in our classrooms and some of which happens on the trails around the school.
