The Program Director & Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor provides overall leadership, administration, and instructional delivery for the CNA training program. This dual-role position ensures regulatory compliance, instructional excellence, student success, and alignment with workforce and employer needs. The role combines program oversight with direct classroom, lab, and clinical instruction.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Administration
- Provide overall management and oversight of the CNA training program
- Ensure compliance with state nurse aide training requirements and workforce regulations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, workforce partners, and clinical sites
- Prepare and maintain documentation for approvals, audits, and site visits
- Manage program supplies, equipment, and instructional resources
- Monitor program outcomes including completion, certification, and employment rates
Instructional Responsibilities
- Deliver CNA curriculum in lab and clinical settings in accordance with state-approved standards
- Teach core CNA competencies including patient care, safety, infection control, and professionalism
- Assess student skills, competencies, and readiness for certification exams
- Maintain accurate instructional records, attendance, evaluations, and student files
- Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment for adult learners
- Prepare students for CNA certification exams and entry-level healthcare employment
Student & Employer Engagement
- Support student retention, career readiness, and job placement efforts
- Coordinate clinical site placements and supervise clinical experiences
- Engage healthcare employers to align training with workforce needs
- Collaborate with admissions and student support teams
Required Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license
- At least 2 years nursing experience
- At least 1 year in long-term care
- Training or experience in adult education or supervising nurse aides
Work Environment
- Classroom, lab, and clinical settings
- Evening availability as required
