Position Overview The Communications Manager / Consultant will work closely with the Field Building & Communications Lead to craft and deliver compelling messaging. The role involves managing day-to-day communications activities, developing strategic content, and ensuring that P4NE’s voice is consistent across all channels. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of new economic ideas and practice, and will be responsible for engaging diverse audiences—ranging from grantees and funders to policymakers and the public. This is a part-time, freelance or employment-based role, initially for six months with the possibility of extension. The role is home-based, but availability during European working hours is essential to coordinate effectively with the team. Remote Communications Jobs Key Responsibilities Strategy and Planning Collaborate with the Field Building & Comms Lead to develop and implement an annual communications strategy aligned with P4NE’s goals. Produce and deliver content plans that support P4NE’s strategic objectives. Monitor and analyze trends in the new economy ecosystem, especially across Europe, to inform content and campaigns. Maintain brand consistency, voice, and messaging across all communication channels. Content Creation and Management Curate and produce digital content, including newsletters, social media posts, blogs, and reports. Manage and update P4NE’s website (WordPress), ensuring regular publication of news, updates, and stories. Develop and support campaigns that highlight P4NE’s work, grantees, and the broader new economy field. Create engaging stories about initiatives, research, and project outcomes to elevate awareness and understanding. Support the production of multimedia content such as videos, infographics, and visual assets, using tools like Canva or Adobe. Stakeholder Engagement Work with grantees and partners to gather content and promote their activities. Assist in developing materials for P4NE’s events, including the Annual Gathering and online academies. Support the development of a community of economy leaders through social media groups and email outreach. Reporting and Administration Maintain accurate records of contacts and communications within P4NE’s CRM system. Contribute to quarterly reports and strategic reviews. Attend weekly virtual team meetings and quarterly in-person meetings (primarily in London). Support broader organizational activities as needed. Person Specification Essential Experience & Knowledge Proven experience in a communications role, including strategy development and content delivery. Deep understanding of new economic thinking, environmental issues, and social innovation. Skilled in digital content creation across multiple platforms, including social media, Mailchimp, and WordPress. Excellent storytelling, editing, and copywriting skills. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Experience working in international or remote teams. Experience with newsletter editing and content management. Journalism or communications experience related to the economy, environment, or social issues. Visual design skills and familiarity with video editing tools. Knowledge of grant-making processes and philanthropy. Fluency in additional languages, beyond English. Experience working for non-profit or advocacy organizations. Personal Attributes Collaborative and able to work independently in a remote environment. Flexible, adaptable, and proactive problem-solver. Strong alignment with P4NE’s values of system thinking, care, optimism, and collaboration. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders. Terms and Benefits The role offers part-time engagement (2.5 days per week), initially for six months, with potential for extension. Salary will be pro-rated based on experience and engagement type, within the range of €40,000–49,000 per year (€35,000–43,000 for part-time). Work is home-based; travel and accommodation expenses are covered when required. Benefits include 33 days of annual leave (full-time equivalent), pension membership, and life insurance (for salaried staff).
