What you’ll be doing:
- The Patient Access Manager is responsible for cultivating a streamlined registration workflow that supports accurate data collection and patient-centric attitudes among staff, as well as administering, coordinating, and monitoring the performance of patient access operations; to include scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, financial clearance, and registration for outpatient and inpatient services.
- This leader seeks to implement emerging best practice strategies to increase front-end efficiency and fortify the patient’s experience. To achieve these goals, this individual works closely with leadership to set goals, priorities, and performance standards. By collaborating with other operational areas and ensuring accurate and timely input of patient demographic and insurance information, this position supports a cohesive and efficient revenue cycle.
- The Patient Access Manager demonstrates a consistent standard of excellence to which departmental work is expected to conform.
- Works closely with hospital Case Management, Scheduling, Utilization Review, Health Information Management, Patient Financial Services, Referral/Prior Authorization, Hospital/Clinic Operations, and clinical service departments to ensure effective patient access operations both inter- and intra-departmentally.
- The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the hospital Revenue Cycle, along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

- This role reports to our Patient Financial Services Director
- Works in a team environment overseeing 13-15 direct reports
Requirements
What they’re looking for:
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 5 years work experience in healthcare revenue cycle required.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership and/or management experience required.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interpret, communicate, and educate others.
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire
