Job Description As a Patient Access Clerk at Amery Hospital & Clinic, you will assist patients in admissions, check-in, registration and scheduling functions, as well as address inquiries via telephone, email or fax. The Care Model Process (CMP) guidelines are to be utilized and followed for all workflows. Primary duties include helping check-in patients for their procedure/appointments and directing them to the appropriate department/clinic/hospital location; printing wrist bands and applying to patients per protocol; printing patient labels as needed; performing bedside registration in ER or inpatient unit; providing appropriate forms as designated by clinical staff and/or standard practice; receiving and entering all patient forms dropped off for completion; determining if the patient needs to be seen to complete the form, and/or having patient complete their portion of the forms; routing forms according to standard practice; collecting and posting patient co‑pays/deductibles/balances consistently and accurately; and assisting patients with any follow‑up appointments at checkout. Work Schedule Shifts will vary depending on department need. Hours can range between 5:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. May be asked to fill in at any Amery Hospital & Clinic location including Amery Hospital & Clinic, Clear Lake Clinic, Turtle Lake Clinic and Luck Clinic. Required Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum one year experience in a hospital or medical clinic setting or equivalent. Experience in a customer service setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Preferred Qualifications Completion of position related 2‑year program, such as Medical Administrative Specialist or Medical Office Specialist. Experience in EPIC computer system.
