Summary Assists patients at the bedside for menu selections in accordance with diet orders, distinguishes between food and food‑related medication allergies, and provides meal service duties of serving and collecting meal trays. Job Duties Attends scheduled meetings and in‑services to stay up‑to‑date on industry trends. Examines customer problems and implements appropriate corrective action in response to customer requests. Escalates food and nutrition queries/requests to the appropriate dietary authority. Maintains current diet orders and menus to ensure compliance with the physician's diet order. Reviews patient diet orders and allergies to confirm compliance with the physician's diet order. Serves as the liaison between the Nursing department and Food and Nutrition services. Minimum Qualifications 1 year of prior experience in food service or a related field. Ability to mentor and train others. Time‑management skills with attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma/GED. Must be 18 years or older. Physical Demands Lift and carry up to 25 lbs; frequent sitting/standing and keyboard use; patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
