About The Role:
In this role, you'll be passionately advocating for oncology patients, ensuring they receive the top-notch treatment and resources they rightfully deserve.
Get ready for an exhilarating opportunity! As part of this role, you'll be at the forefront, engaging directly with patients, caregivers, and case managers, orchestrating their travel to the hospital for their crucial treatment appointments. Picture yourself as the ultimate support system for patients, collaborating closely with their care team to guarantee a smooth journey to their treatment sessions. But that's not all – you'll dive into the details by verifying the patients' major medical benefits, sorting out payment details for travel arrangements, coordinating travel for their appointments, and facilitating the enrollment process for the Patient Assistance program. As the Patient Navigator, you'll take center stage, serving as the go-to person for patients and caregivers. Get ready to make a real impact!
- Ensure cases move through the process as required in compliance with company requirements and the organization's defined standards and procedures, providing the best level of service and quality.
- Verify patient health insurance medical benefits and document specifics including coverage, cost share and treatment access options.
- Partner closely with case managers to confirm appointment dates and communicate patient needs.
- Act as a liaison for patients and caregivers to ensure accurate scheduling and preparation
- Enter and maintain patient data in CRM.
- Collaborates with fellow team members to engage with patients, initiating proactive communication to guarantee exceptional customer service and facilitate a smooth patient treatment experience.
- Documents and communicates all patient travel needs including scheduling, rescheduling, and arrival/departure details.
- Administer and handle applications for Travel and Lodging and Patient Assistance Programs
- Manage the reimbursement process for receipts.
- Providing coverage during afterhours to address urgent patient needs.
- Maintain interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with team lead and case managers while time managing case specific activities.
- Ability to adapt, lead with empathy, integrity and manages inbound phone calls regarding case status inquiries, Program details for reimbursement, financial support, and call triage to the appropriate third-party, when needed.
- Maintain readiness and availability to handle phone calls for most of the day.
- Expected to assist as needed if patient navigator coverage is needed outside of a normal shift.
Compensation: $20/hr-$24/hr - Top pay will be offered to candidates with oncology experience

Schedule Requirements: 12-9pm EST and once a week at home on call hours from 9-11pm EST
Work from home: The opportunity to work a hybrid schedule will be made available after 120 days of post training based upon goals and quotas being met at the discretion of the manager
Requirements
- Previous work experience in Oncology background.
- High School diploma.
- Ability to work with high attention to detail.
- In-depth understanding and experience with Medical Benefits.
- 2 to 5 years of patient coordinating/scheduling experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience interacting with healthcare providers regarding Patient Health Information.
- Prominent level of empathy and sensitivity when speaking with oncology patients.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and great team player
- Excellent verbal communication skills and grammar.
Preferred Requirements:
- Hospital and specialty oncology medication experience highly desired.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Salesforce system experience preferred.
- Knowledge of care coordination for cancer patients.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, hospice related community resources preferred.
