Location: Willow Grove, PA 19090
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (100% onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Compensation: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour (D.O.E.)
Position Overview
The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in delivering exceptional support to patients while ensuring smooth coordination between clinicians, physician offices, insurance providers, and internal teams. This position is responsible for managing administrative and patient-facing tasks that contribute to timely and accurate healthcare services. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains professionalism, and demonstrates strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to patients by addressing inquiries, scheduling needs, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Perform accurate data entry and prepare patient orders in a timely manner.
- Become knowledgeable in various insurance company requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Obtain and verify all necessary documentation required for insurance processing and approvals.
- Verify patient benefits, eligibility, and pre-certify services with insurance providers.
- Coordinate closely with clinicians, physician offices, and internal staff to ensure timely service delivery.
- Maintain accurate, concise, and compliant patient records.
- Navigate and utilize company computer systems and phone applications efficiently.
- Handle sensitive patient information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Perform additional administrative and support duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Required experience/education: 1–2 years of experience in an office, medical, healthcare, orthopedic, ophthalmology, or large physician practice environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with medical software systems such as NextGen, Medix, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of insurance verification processes and medical administrative procedures.
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology or coding is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while exercising good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Professional appearance and adherence to workplace dress standards.
