Patient Service Representative (PSR)Location- New Port Richey, FLPRNGeneral DescriptionThe Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as the first point of contact for Premier Community HealthCare Group patients and plays a critical role in delivering a positive, welcoming, and efficient patient experience. This position provides front-desk support for medical and/or dental services, including patient check-in, check-out, registration, scheduling, and customer service.PSRs directly impact patient satisfaction by ensuring timely service, accurate information, and professional communication while supporting clinic operations and patient flow.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide best-in-class customer service during patient check-in and check-outEnsure patients are assisted in a timely, professional, and courteous mannerPartner with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow and low wait timesUpdate and maintain accurate patient demographic, insurance, and registration informationCollect and post payments for services not completed during pre-registrationAnswer multiple phone lines promptly and assist callers with scheduling and general inquiriesSchedule appointments and assist with patient registration, including walk-ins and same-day visitsIssue referrals and process preventive care and non-urgent referrals as directed by providersUtilize internal resources and collaborate with other Premier sites to complete daily tasksEscalate patient concerns, registration issues, or billing questions to appropriate leadershipAssist other care team members as needed and foster a positive team environmentMeet individual performance goals and provide input for process improvementMaintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance at all timesCommunicate workflow disruptions that may impact patient flowSupport community give-back initiatives and advocate for Premier's missionAdhere to Premier's core values and patient care standardsParticipate in Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA) initiativesPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesBasic understanding of medical terminology and documentationBasic mathematical skillsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyStrong customer service skills with empathy and compassion for diverse populationsProfessional demeanor with a positive attitude and strong work ethicAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, across all levels of the organizationExcellent grammar, spelling, and interpersonal skillsHigh ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and Premier valuesQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredCPR/BLS certification preferredAbility to obtain and maintain Epic certification and annual compliance training throughout employmentWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsAbility to lift 20 lbs. regularly and 3050 lbs. occasionallyAbility to sit for extended periodsDirect exposure to computer screensPossible exposure to contagious or infectious diseasesBackground Screening Requirement: This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
