We are hiring a Payment Clerk for one of our clients in Phoenix, AZ.

Job Description:

Client is looking for a meticulous and customer-focused Temporary Fare Media Transition Specialist to assist in transitioning customers from old fare media to new Copper smartcards. The successful candidate will handle the intake of old fare media, verify value/balance, and load equivalent value to a new Copper smartcard for the customer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fare Media Processing: Collect and process old fare media from customers in exchange for a new smartcard with equivalent value ensuring all transactions are accurately executed and logged/tracked.
• Verification: Verify the validity and value of old fare media.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers in person to explain the transition process and answer questions.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all fare media transactions
• Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with company policies and procedures and provided training documents.
• Reporting: Generate reports on fare media processing activities.
• Collaboration: Work with other departments, such as ATS and Finance, to ensure smooth and accurate transaction processing and record-keeping.
• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to fare media and credits.
• Process Improvement: Suggest and implement (upon approval) improvements to the fare media transition process to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.

Experience required:

• Previous experience in customer service, account management, or financial processing is desirable.

Experience Preferred:

• Familiarity with Valley Metro transit systems and fare products/passes is an advantage.

Education Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
