Moyle Construction, the region’s leader in design-build construction, seeks a full-time Payroll & Human Resource Specialist in Houghton, Michigan . In this position, you are a key member of our Administrative team ensuring our dedicated workforce are paid accurately and supported throughout their employment. If you enjoy helping people, juggling a mix of responsibilities, and making sure the details are right, this could be a great fit for you. WHAT WE OFFER. $22.00 - $28.00 per hour startingpay based on experience. Profit sharing opportunity tied to company performance. Health insurance including dental and vision coverage; family plans available. 401(k) retirement plan with company match. Paid time off. Opportunity for professional growth – we are growing rapidly and are excited to develop our team. WHAT YOU WILL DO. Process timecards, ensure payroll accuracy, maintain attendance and leave records, and work with employees to resolve payroll issues. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, reconcile payroll numbers, and maintain employee files, databases, and W-2 records. Assist with accounting tasks including accounts payable and receivable, subcontractor compliance, W-9 collection, and 1099 preparation. Balance assigned accounts, and support auditors during reviews. Process employee benefits paperwork, workers’ compensation claims, and keep policies and benefit information updated. Track key HR items: CDL medical cards, census data, and OSHA logs. Create spreadsheets, forms, and reports to support tracking and documentation needs. Complete a variety of administrative tasks including filing, document preparation, copying, ads, and mail distribution. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR. The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Accounting or Human Resources, or 3+ years of hands‑on payroll and HR experience. Knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll processing, and general office administration is required. Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact, professionalism, and confidentiality. Accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills. Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, documents, internet use, and payroll‑related software. Ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, adjust to shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
