The Payroll Coordinator will support the Payroll Team in handling day-to-day processing of payroll and benefits administration.
Requirements
Essential Functions

- Prepare bi-monthly payroll for salaried employees, hourly employees, and LLC owners through third party payroll provider, including but not limited to:
- Earnings calculations
- Benefit deductions
- Leaves of Absence
- Retirement contributions
- Assist the Senior Payroll and Benefits Lead in navigating multi-state requirements, including but not limited to state and local tax withholdings/nexus, various labor law restrictions, and unemployment, paid family leave, and workers’ comp mandates.
- Coordinate with HR and multiple benefit providers to ensure correct deductions and assist with leaves of absence and disability calculations.
- Register in new localities and states and deactivate accounts as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant state nexus and compliance laws.
- Recommend process improvements as necessary.
- Assist with annual open enrollment process.
- Assist Payroll, Accounting, and Human Resources Teams with other tasks as needed.

This job operates in a professional office environment or remotely as approved by supervisor and Controller. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
We are looking to hire someone who is willing to work from the Philadelphia office at least a few days per week.

Required Education and Experience
- Punctuality and timely attendance to external client and internal stakeholder needs.
- 1 – 3 years’ experience administering payroll.
- Multistate payroll experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Excellent organizational skills.
