Payroll Clerk Needed!Staffmark is seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator with a strong background in construction payroll to support accurate and timely payroll processing for a multi-crew, multi-job-site workforce. This role is responsible for weekly payroll processing, labor tracking, job costing, and payroll compliance, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.Schedule | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Pay | $40,000 $55,000 Employment type | Direct HireKey Responsibilities:Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple construction job sitesReview, enter, and verify timecards, labor hours, and job cost codingEnsure compliance with certified payroll, prevailing wage, and union/non-union requirementsManage payroll deductions, benefits, garnishments, and direct depositMaintain accurate employee payroll records, including new hires and terminationsReconcile payroll reports and assist with payroll audits and compliance reviewsCollaborate with project managers and field supervisors to resolve timekeeping issuesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulationsSupport month-end reporting and construction job cost trackingRequired Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPayroll, accounting, or construction-related certification preferredExperience:Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in construction payrollStrong knowledge of construction labor classifications, job costing, and payroll complianceExperience processing weekly, high-volume payrollWorking knowledge of certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage lawsProficiency with payroll software and electronic timekeeping systemsHigh attention to detail with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:Experience with union payroll and multi-state payroll processingFamiliarity with construction accounting or ERP systemsStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentOur partner company can provide you with the vital benefits that you deserve.
