Position Summary

Are you looking to work in a small group where you can put your accounting knowledge toward learning something new? Then our Payroll Specialist opening may just be the position you've been seeking! This role is perfect for the entry level person looking to be part of a team to help execute all matters related to payroll.
This position is hybrid and has work from home flexibility.
Position Responsibilities
Ensures New Hires are correctly setup.
Ensures Termination Pay and additional final payments are accurate.
Ensures taxes are correctly administered.
Reviews Time Cards for accuracy.
Assists in preparation of the payroll processing to ensure accurately and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, overtime, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.
Ensures the tracking of leave of absences and payments are entered and adminstered accourately.
Prepares analyses related to payroll transactions, employee demographics and insurance data.
Assists in the processing of the pension contribution changes.
Assists in the payments to benefit companies and reconciles billing.
Serves as a resource and interact with employees to answer any payroll related questions.
Assists with annual audits.
Prepares ad hoc payroll reporting and analysis as needed.
Maintains a strong knowledge base about payroll regulations and reporting requirements, including multi-state payrolls.
Identifies areas of continuous improvement and is proactive in working with other Payroll/HR/Finance team members to make changes.
Maintains strict confidentiality of the Firm's client information, internal and personnel affairs.
Builds relationships and fosters a collaborative approach to working with internal clients across practice groups and with management.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and the hours needed to accomplish the Firm expectations.
Additional duties as assigned.
Key Competencies
Must have Excel experience. Must prioritize detail and accuracy and have a customer first mentality. Must be versatile.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work is preferred.
Strong analytical skills and advanced experience in Excel is required.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in accounting, payroll or similar in an office environment.
ADP Workforce experience is considered a plus.
Must be an organized self-starter who is detail-oriented and has a First in Service attitude.
Salary
The salary range for this position is $56K to $70K.

Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that Benesch provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work.
