Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities Process semimonthly payroll for all company staff, including hourly, salaried, and PRN employees. Verify time sheets, PTO, overtime, and shift differential pay to ensure accuracy. Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and company policies. Prepare paychecks, direct deposits, process vendor payments, and payroll reports. Handle wage garnishments, child support, and other deductions as required. Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and deductions in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate with HR and department managers to resolve time sheet or staffing discrepancies. Assist with new hire setup, terminations, and status changes in the payroll system. Support year-end reporting, including W-2s and other tax filings. Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies related to payroll. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred. 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care. Strong knowledge of payroll systems and timekeeping software. Understanding of wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality. Strong communication and customer service skills.
